Chris Olsen, Thomas Dietrich and K.C. Drake scored against the Santa Rosa Bear Cubs.
Jen Young scored four goals, Dietrich had three, and Erik Wiesz had two against the Beavers. Andrew Grafius recorded 17 saves on the day.
The Mustangs are going into the NorCal tournament as the sixth seed, playing Modesto, the third seed at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 in Folsom.
"I fell pretty good about this team," said coach Larry Huiras. "The nucleus of this team were freshman last year and we only won, like, four games. In a year's time we are a good improvement."
Delta played Modesto once this season and lost 13-12. They outscored the Pirates in the second half, but ran out of time, according to Huiras.
"The clock ran out of us," he said.
Volleyball
The Lady Mustangs shattered the Lady Vikings, beating them 30-17, 30-18, 30-12.
Breanne Zelmer led Delta with two kills and 10 digs, as they shutdown Diablo Valley in three games, Friday, Nov. 4.
Ellie Cornfoot had eight kills and four digs, Kim Sordello recorded seven kills and two blocks, Jordanne Brenkwitz had 16 digs and Hillary Rasmussen made 42 assists and 14 digs.
Women's water polo
Sarah Watt is the number-one ranked scoring in the state with over 100 goals.
"It feels good to be number one in the state," Watt added.
Katrina Cockerill is second in the state with assists.
Melisa Addison is second in state with saves.
"That's really big," said Freshman Addison. "It's the first time I ever played goalie and I wasn't expecting to do that well."
Cross Country
Freshman Jessica Montenegro finished 28th overall Saturday, Nov. 5, in the NorCal Championships.
With this victory she earns a trip to the California Community College Championship State meet Saturday, Nov. 19, at Woodward Park in Fresno
Women's soccer
Delta recorded a 0-0 tie to Sierra in Rocklin Friday, Nov. 4.
The Lady Mustangs fell to the topped-ranked Sierra 3-0 in their last meeting in Stockton, but held their own on an unknown field.
"It was a moral victory to tie them on their own field," said Mustangs coach Lloyd Ratto.
Goalie Kianna Williams had 13 saves for Delta.
Women's basketball
The Lady Mustangs took out the College of the Sequoias 91-57, behind sophomore forward Jennifer Layton scoring 22 points and nine rebounds to give Delta a victory in their home opener.
