A letter from Mary Anne Fry about the misbehavior of students in the Locke Lounge was discussed at the ASBG's weekly meeting Monday Oct. 31.

In the letter, Fry says, the misbehavior in the Locke Lounge is an ongoing problem. "These students are verbally rude to our custodial staff and leave the lounge trashed by the end of the day. Perhaps if our ASBG officers took the leadership in meeting with the Locke Lounge students to explain what acceptable college behavior is", Fry said in the letter.

The board had many thoughts on this issue and discussed many ideas.

"I don't think walking up and saying, 'Hey you're misbehaving is going to make any differences; I think it's more a responsibility of the people that managed the place." Vice President Elliot Castro.

"I think what they are asking us to do is to talk with the students; It's different when a student talks to another student, Pierre Tapia, ASBG president said.

"I don't think they (students) realize they are doing anything wrong. They think there just having fun," Melissa Garren, senator of activities said.

"I would request we post something in the Impact, and we could say "Please respect your campus" and other things like that." Tapia said.

The board agreed with the proposal.

The next ASBG meeting is Nov. 6 at 2:30 p.m. in Shima 101.
