Everyone knows when it comes to Halloween costumes, you're either in or you're out. So what are the getups that will get you noticed this year? And where will you go after you're dressed to the nines? Read on, guys and gals, for your Halloween: 101, lesson in All Hallow's Eve 2005.

According to extremehalloween. com, "Star Wars" costumes are the hot item this year, specifically Darth Vader and Princess Leia. Yes, that's right, people, 25 years later "The Dark Lord of the Sith" and his female nemesis are still the man and woman to be. I guess there is a little sci-fi geek inside all of us?

Along those same lines, silver-screen superheroes are also super cool, Batman and Superman for the guys and Wonder Woman for the ladies. Or go with a classic, maybe one of the characters of the "Scooby Doo" gang or "Fantastic Four."

Ladies, if you are looking to dress to impress, let's face it, there are endless possibilities. With the upcoming release of the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha," coolplanet.com says the ladies can't go wrong dressed up as a geisha girl.

The sexy classics are also a hip pick: find your inner Marilyn Monroe, "Naughty Nurse," or iconic "Bunny," who represents a certain magazine.

Now boys, you all know a girl loves a guy with a sense of humor. How about tickling her funny bone dressed as everyone's favorite dweeb, Napoleon Dynamite (moon boots and all available, at the Halloween Spirit Store). Freaking Sweet!

Maybe you want to channel your inner mojo; in that case, Austin Powers is still a groovy choice. Or perhaps you are in the mood to impart your wisdom through catchy songs and a little dance; you're going to need an Umpa Loompa costume for that.

If you already have that special guy or gal, and you're so in love you have to dress as a pair, the most popular couples' costumes are: anything "Star Wars" (again), or the slapstick, "Plug & Socket," bricklayer and his brick house, or holy s**t to his bull s**t.
