The Lady Mustangs stumbled a little in the first and second game, as the West Valley Lady Vikings gave them a run for their money. Delta beat them 30-24, 26-30, 30-11, 30-24.
"Our passing broke down," said head coach Brad Friesen. "Our passing clicked well in game three. That was the big difference."
After Butte beat West Valley three games to one, 28-30, 30-28, 31-29, 30-28 the Lady Mustangs were faced with the Lady Roadrunners.
"We picked up our intensity," said freshman Frances Sandor about their second match.
Butte was close in the first game, but Delta easily beat them 30-26, 30-17, 30-19.
"We executed our defense," said Friesen. "We served a lot better."
Friesen praised Hillary Rasmussen as the teams setter and noted that Sandor recorded many kills.
"She's (Rasmussen) like our quarterback," he said.
"My job is easy, because I have a lot of good hitters/players," Rasmussen said.
Frances Sandor had 21 kills, and four blocks, Alicia
Karver recorded 10 kills and one block, Kim Sordello made 10 kills and four blocks, Jordanne Brenkwitv had 18 digs, and Hillary Rasmussen recorded 60 assists in game one.
Sandor had 18 kills, Breanne Zellmer made 15 kills and three blocks, Karver recorded 11 kills, Brenkwitv had 11 digs, and Rasmussen made 50 assists and 15 digs.
