Who knew art could be so interpretational, yet so fascinating, as well as peculiar, all at the same time. This exhibition marks the third annual exhibition held at the L.H. Horton Jr Gallery.

Thursday, a welcoming reception for the public to view the exhibit was truly a success as the onlookers looked on with pure interest and wonder. The exhibit features curator Nancy Mizuno Elliot, who was once featured as an artist in 2003, presents the Nancy Boy, a collection of nine Bay-Area males who explore or are intrigued with the prospect of feminist issues and feminine aesthetics. In the second personification of the exhibition, Bren Ahearn, Brain Gangelhoff, Matthew Gerring, David Hevel, Curtis Jones, Seth Koen, Francis Mcllveen, Andrew J. Phares and Shawn Smith are the nice featured male artists.

"My Kitchen has Every Convenience was completely boggling, because as I stood admiring the subtle approach of one's kitchen décor I thought to myself, maybe one's cooking area isn't complete without a means of protection," Trisha Garcia said while referring to the gun in Andrew J. Phares piece.

Each display has a feel of its own that attracts each individual to its presence just by a mere glance from the viewer. Take, for example, "Hat #1" and "Hat #2" by Seth Koen, a display that clearly needs no introduction stand out among the displays and you wonder if Koen tries to make a point, or is he just creating art? The displays can be described mildly as enduring hats making a play for fall fashion.

Koen states in his artist's statement that he is interested in the "between moments" of life and the questions these moments raise about what is on either side of them.

"There's nothing really unique about this display, and I wasn't really that impressed by it, but maybe if it has something more to say then I be open for change," Eric Johnson bluntly stated about his dislike of Visible Bra Straps by Curtis Jones. Even the best weren't sheltered from criticism.

No display is like any other. They range from a different display of painting, to sculptures of gunmounts, from a plate to bizarre flower arrangements consisting of dogs and maneaters. Fallen Wedding Cake was completely surreal, which was very appealing to the crowd as they watched with disenchantment as well as intrigue, knowing this piece was made using baked romance novels.
