Psychobilly music is what the Horrorpops are all about. The band's new record, "Bring It On," was put together with different elements. Those elements were: up-tempo beats mixed with fast guitars and, most importantly, bass sounds. Fronted by Patricia Bay on upright bass, Kim Nekroman and Geoff Kresge on guitars and Henrik Niedermeier on drums.

The Horrorpops loaded their new record with energetic and dance-worthy songs. The lyrics are mostly repetitive, though, with some of the songs about the same subject, but they were sung and played in a different beat.

There were a couple of good songs on the record. The song "Freaks in Uniform," which is an anthem for any outcast, has a very catchy chorus. After listening to that song, the chorus was embedded into my brain. I like the tempo and the vocals that were on the song "Hit and Run."

"S.O.B" is also a good song that speaks about revenge and betrayal. The lyrics are very descriptive on how to seek revenge.

"Bring It On" and "Who's Leading You Now" were okay. The only songs that I did not like were "Walk like a Zombie" and "Caught In A Blonde." They could have done without the chorus parts. Those songs were just too strange for me.

After listening to the record, I don't really have the urge to listen to it again anytime soon. Of course, that's just my opinion. Each song on the record was too upbeat. Overall, the record was okay. This is not a record for people who just like to sit down and listen to music.

For those hyperactive people who love to dance and cannot stop moving, go out and get this record. This record felt like a non-stop noisy party. Each song might make a person want to tap their feet, bop their head or punch the wall. As for me, the record did not make me want to do any of the above.
