Jerome Prader, Daniel Luna, Chris Luna and Lisa Kreeft were all appointed to positions in the Associated Student Government during the ASBG's weekly meeting Monday, Sept. 12. All were interviewed by ASBG President Pierre Tapia, then brought in the meeting for remediation.
Jerome Prader a computer science major, who was interested in the web editor position, said, "Being part of the student government would be a great learning experience." Prader is also a computer consultant.
Daniel Luna who was interested in the senator of legislative affairs position, said, "I am very outgoing; I get along with everyone. I like to get involved with activities, and also like to help people out."
Chris Luna, Daniel Luna's brother, was interested in the President's Council. "Our father passed away about two-and-a-half years ago and at that time I was working for a BMW dealership. The owner believed in me," he said. "I was going to school and working and got a internship from the man that is now Secretary of State Bruce McPherson. I really wanted to learn how to improve my communications."
"After campaigning for Bruce McPherson my dad passed away," he said. "I had to work full-time so I could pay off the mortgage. After that, then I decided I wanted to go back to school."
Lisa Kreeft, who was interested in the ICC representative position, said, "I love people. I like to be around them. I like to communicate with them and also like to make work fun." Kreeft is also on the swim team.
The Board passed a motion approving the new ASBG officers. There are now 16 ASBG officers and only two open positions left, including senator of activities.
