Get your tennis shoes on and crack open the closet for those running shorts; it's time for cross-country. The Mustangs have a young group of freshman to train and pull together for the next two years.

"Our goal is to keep them together for the next two years and if we accomplish that we should be very successful," said head coach Dan King.

The men's team has a bit of an edge with the six competitors.

"We have a solid group of six young men, and they enjoy working hard and training together," said King.

Lindsay Boulay leads the women's team, and "She should be very successful," King added.

Delta's league consists of the "Big Seven" conference, where they will attend three NorCal meets.

"With the new "Big Seven" conference our competition will be very competitive; however, we should do fairly well," said King.

King has three months to get everyone ready for numerous meets and races in the Northern California area.

"The last week of October is a do or die scenario for us," he said. "The Mustangs will be competitive even with everyone being a freshman."
