The Delta baseball team came out on top in the 12th inning after Brian Gonzales belted a walk-off three-run homer to give the Mustangs an 8-7 victory over Yuba in their final game of the season, Saturday, May 7.
"Gonzales hasn't had many at-bats, but he killed it over the center field fence," said Delta coach Jim Yanko.
They were faced with a three-all tie going into the ninth, then tied at four apiece by the 11th, but a home run blast from a 49er broke open the tie, giving Yuba a three-run lead in the top of the 12th.
Delta fought back as they scored one, but the big hit came from a quiet Gonzales, as he smashed the ball far out in center field.
