Chris Walker becomes a Sooner

Men's basketball guard Chris Walker signed with the Oklahoma Sooners.

Sophomore Walker averaged 11 points, seven assists, four steals and five rebounds per game.

Forward Kyle Huggett has a scholarship to Concordia University. He averaged 15 points and nine rebounds. Roman Moniak will play at Adams State in Colorado and Kevin Hasenfus is going to Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash.

Three players have plans to go to a Division One school. Jared Cozad to San Jose State, John Meat to San Diego State and Ajay Riding to Fresno State. Guard Sam Kirby is still waiting for three colleges.

Baseball

Brett Bruneel struck out six, but a leadoff homer denied him of a victory as the Mustangs fell 2-1 to Santa Rosa, Tuesday, April 19. Jacob Myking went 2-4 with a double.

Delta topped off a double-digit victory over Contra Costa 13-5, Thursday, April 21. Shane Farmer hit four RBI.

The Panthers beat out the Mustangs 8-7, Friday, April 29 after a two-run homer, and a bases loaded walk.

"We had the momentum, but didn't get it done in the bottom of the ninth," said Delta coach Jim Yanko.

Softball

Melanie Nordhaus shut out Los Medanos in the doubleheader victory for the Lady Mustangs Thursday, April 21. Dani Caldwell went 4-4 including two doubles, a home run and four RBI. They beat them 9-0, and 7-0.

Golf

Delta placed forth in the Northern California Regional Tournament in a two-round score of 773, Monday, May 2, and qualified for the state tournament in Fresno for the first time in seven years.

Steve Meyer shot a 152, Kyle Kulling shot a 153, Jason Ferrari shot a 155, Ross Vilinskas shot a 155, and Josh Harrison shot a 159.
