The men's track team took fifth place overall with 64 points; the women's team took forth place overall with 69 points.
In women's pole vaulting team put on a very strong performance, as Jill Schlenker took first overall with a height of (11' feet), tying the old record she set last season.
The men's pole vaulting team also put on a strong performance as Josh Linker took second place with a height of (12 feet 6 inches) and Emanuel Rodriguez tied for third place with a height of (12 feet).
Pole vault coach Vincent Taype was pleased with the results from the women's and men's teams.
" Jill did really well," Taype said. "Jill is jumping what she did last year at the state meet. So what she jumped in the beginning of May to the end of June last year she's already jumping in February of this year. Jill is coming along really well." Taype said. "Emanuel and Josh, its pretty much lemonade with lemons, because Emanuel didn't have the pause he needed yet and he still came through and did a really good job." Taype said, " Josh had to run the 4 by 100 meter, then come back and jump, so he did a really good job."
Linker also took tenth in javelin (127 feet 10 inches), sixth in triple jump (38 feet 10 feet), and sixth in high jump (5 feet 8 inches).
The men's team also fought hard in the 4 by 100 meter relay, as they took sixth place (48.56).
Freshman Ryan Rindel ran in his first meet as he took eighteenth place in the 200 meter ( 24.88) and eighteenth place in the 100 meter ( 12.20).
" I think I did pretty well for being my first real track meet since doing track last year." Rindel said. "My times were pretty decent. I think I could improve a lot."
Freshman Marcel Waite thinks improvement can be made for the next meet on the 4 by 100 meter relay.
" Once we work on our handoffs, we can shave off four seconds," Waite said. " We have pretty good speed."
