In the late 1980s, early 1990s, we started to see computers to show up in classrooms, these were the original Macintosh.
Since then, there are many brands of computers and accessories. The most amazing but dangerous tool came to computers and that tool is the Internet. Why is this particular tool amazing but dangerous you ask?
The Internet is a portal to another dimension, another world to be exact. This world has many things to offer.
You are able to communicate with people in chat rooms and instant messenger programs, you are able to buy items online, you can read newspapers for free (check us out at www.theimpactonline.com.) and you can check out the dark side of the Internet.
The dark side is the sexual content on the Internet.
Yahoo's chat rooms have many chat rooms dedicated to sexual content, and sadly, they are easily accessible by children. It does not matter if children cannot read, because they could be exposed to adults who are showing themselves in a sexually explicit way on their webcams.
AOL's (American Online) chat rooms are as easily accessible to children as are Yahoo's. AOL's chat rooms are worse.
I went into a chat room to get a tip on a video game (Pokemon room) and I was shocked at what I saw in there. I had seen a bot advertising that she was nude and wanted somebody to cum (come) and see her.
A bot is a screen name that is created usually by somebody from the porn industry that creates automatic messages.
This happens all the time in the AOL chat rooms, and it is disgusting that the porn industry is advertising sex in children's' chat rooms.
Going back to Yahoo, when I was talking to a friend, I received an instant message out of the blue from an unknown user, a webcam girl to be exact.A webcam girl is a female of legal age who uses a company that charges people to view the webcam. Specifically, it's a fancy name for a porn website.
What I'm getting at is that when Yahoo asks if you want your profile to be public to all users, you should always mark "no". If you don't mark "no", the webcam girls and other porn advertisers will send instant messages to you.
