At the ASBG weekly meeting Monday, Nov. 1, plans were discussed for a winter ball.

"I called the Civic Auditorium and they were booked for the week of Dec. 18," Pierre Tapia, senator of activities, said. He looked for other various locations, but has not received any calls back.

"If we move it back to January or February, we won't be in any competition with Christmas parties," Elliott Castro said. David Ferrell, supervisor of Student Activities, suggested that they pick a date in the future and then work on the costs.

The board agreed to push the date back for the winter ball.

For College Hour this week, a mix of students will perform blues and jazz music.

"I haven't decided what type of food to serve. I want to have something different, like Japanese food, like we did at the last College Hour," Tapia said.

ASBG president Carmen Avitia discussed the AASACC Conference again at the meeting.

"As I said last week, we are not approved to go; it actually was a miscalculation and we will be attending this. It will be from November 11 through 14 in Nashville, Tennessee," Avitia said. The board then passed a motion authorizing the trip.

Another item of discussion at the meeting was of the ASBG's new web, log on at http://www.deltacollege.edu/org/asbg/.

The board also talked about their three-day conference in Los Angeles this weekend. The next ASBG meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 8, at 2:30 p.m. in Shima 101.
