Mike O'Brian pins, and Delta places 15th in West Valley Tournament

The Knights beat the Mustangs 24-15, but Mike O'Brian topped the night when he pinned his opponent in 1:07. Greg Salatti won 6-2 and Benny Garcia won by forfeit.
They traveled to the West Valley Tournament Saturday, Oct. 16, where Garcia went 4-2 and placed fourth at 141 ponds. Vincente Moreno (149) and Marcus Deanda (184) both went 2-2, and the team placed 15th.
Next match up is Nov. 3 against Santa Rosa.
Women's water polo
Elise Schwartz led the Lady Mustangs with six goals to beat Fresno 8-5. Brittany Allee had 10 saves in the game.
With this win the women clinched second place in the Central Valley Conference Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Jenna Pioli and Christine Setness both scored two goals apiece in a 10-7 loss against Santa Rosa.
Volleyball
The Lady Mustangs topped the Beavers 30-22, 30-19, 30-27, Wednesday, Oct. 15. Karen Kroplin led with 14 kills. Nicole Lubelle made 10 kills and one ace. Cindy Staylon had 15 kills. Katie Hoag recorded 22 assists, eight digs, and Jen Emmerson mad 19 assists and eight digs.
Lubelle recorded a team-high with 14 kills and Sarah Buhr made 13, as the team beat the 49ers 3-0 Friday, Oct. 15.
Women's soccer
The Lady Mustangs beat Mendocino 1-0 when Christina Quitasol scored in the 64th minute Tuesday, Oct. 19. Ashley Lopez made 10 saves for Delta.
