I was on the web talking to one of my friends via Yahoo Instant Messenger, and they were talking to me about the website that showed some cartoons. My friend had told me to check it out.

When I had first checked it out, I assumed I had accidentally found a new toddler's cartoon that PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) was starting. I assumed wrong. The cartoon was not for toddlers; in fact, the cartoon was made to be viewed by people ages 12 and up.

The cartoon has about 14 to 16 characters with names like Disco Bear, Flippy the Bear, and Cuddles the Bunny. I am speaking of "Happy Tree Friends."

If you look at Flippy the Bear's eyes, it almost reminds you of the cat's eyes in Disney's "The Emperor's New Groove." I am not sure if the artist is the same artist or not, but it is similar, very similar.

The backgrounds in the episodes are plain, nothing out of the ordinary. It's the characters in the episodes that are worth the viewing. Each character has his or her own personality and each character is a different animal, except for Papa and Junior Bear.

Flippy the Bear is war torn, and every time he hears certain sounds, he is reminded of being in the war and becomes mentally unstable. Disco Bear is a bear that is stuck in the Disco Age, and thinks he's the sexiest bear alive, which has very dangerous consequences. These are only two of my favorite characters out of the 14 to 16.

The episodes should not be viewed by younger people, because they contain violence and nothing but violence. Why view it, then? If you are a fan of "Tom and Jerry," "Itchy and Scratchy," or "South Park," you'll enjoy the humor in how the characters die and how the other characters deal with it.

Some episodes are funny, some are okay. If you want a real laugh, you should keep an eye out for the "Smoochie" episodes. Smoochies allow you to "choose the way to kill the character." You get three choices, and the end results will have you laughing for a good minute or two.

I recommend viewing "Petunia's Summer Vacation" Smoochie. This particular Smoochie has an interesting scene that will shock you.

So, who makes "Happy Tree Friends?" Mondo Mini Shows is the company that puts out this hilarious cartoon. Mondo Mini Shows is located right in San Francisco. The actual creators' names are Rhode Montijo and Kenn Navarro.

Montijo created the characters for the show. Navarro is the one who helped Montijo bring the show to life. Navarro also lends his voice to the show.
